Kerimäen Kalatalo is a company founded by seven professional fishermen. Kerimäen Kalatalo Oy only handles fish caught from Finnish lakes: vendace, pike, pike perch, mackerel and other fish from management fishing. Kerimäen Kalatalo is located in Kerimäki village which is part Savonlinna city. Kerimäki is located in the Saimaa region of Eastern Finland. Kalatalo sells products to shops, restaurants and wholesalers, for example.

Most of the fish processed in Kalatalo is vendace caught from Lake Puruvesi. The tradition of seine fishing in Puruvesi is hundreds of years old. Hundreds of traditional fishing places are still in use and the principle of seine fishing and the structure of the gear have remained largely the same.

In December 2013, the Puruvesi vendace was granted EU name protection. The reputation and quality of Puruvesi vendace is based on a clean living environment.
